Synthetically manufactured ultrapure crystalline diamond with the same outstanding properties as the natural stone. A microcrystalline extra thick coating on silicon carbide seal faces which is capable of performances previously unheard of for mechanical seals.

The coating process for producing thin diamond layers on silicon carbide was developed and perfected to production line status at the Fraunhofer Institute for Surface Engineering and Thin Films (IST) in Braunschweig, Germany.
DiamondFaces®, a version of this process and plant engineering specially adapted and optimized to the requirements of mechanical seals, is the result of the most intensive cooperation with the the Fraunhofer Institute for Surface Engineering and Thin Films in Braunschweig, the Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems in Dresden and the Fraunhofer Institute for Mechanics of Materials in Freiburg, all Germany.
